For
anyone wishing to book the Society, for an event or for filming,
press shoots and talks, it is advised that you read this very
carefully indeed.
Lord
Burgh’s Retinue will use the full force of the law to enforce its
Copyright and to protect its name, music and images from misuse.
Ownership
of Copyright
“The
Copyright of The Retinue of Thomas, Lord Burgh K.G 1460-96ã
and its members is vested in the Society as a corporate body unless
otherwise agreed in writing in advance of any performance.
The
said Copyright Performance includes the written and spoken word in
addition to visual presentations.”
Waiver
of Copyright
Members
of the Society and members of the public are permitted to make
still, moving and sound recordings of Copyright Performances without
prior application of permission, so long as the recordings that are
made are for personal and private use of the individual making the
recording.
Apart
from reasonable use during private editing, the copying of movie or
stills, negatives (electronic or digital), and/or prints and video
camera and/or subsequent masters is expressly viewed as a breach of
Copyright.
Retention
of Copyright
Audio
or visual material recorded at an event, involving the Society, or
its members, may not be used for any purpose intended for financial
reward without specific, written, permission of the Society, sought
and granted in advance of the event.
Such
use includes; copying, editing, public performance by broadcast or
other diffusion, and use in clubs, coaches, hotels, hospitals, oil
rigs, prisons, schools or any other commercial organisation.
Recordings
made specifically for radio or television news programmes, as end
users, are exempt from this retention, so long as a screen credit is
given during broadcasting.
