| Joining the UK's leading late medieval living history
group is an interesting and rewarding experience. You get to visit
amazing historical locations in a way that the general public never can
- many you can even sleep in! Our members come from all walks of life -
from the very young to well over 70 years old. We have decades of
experience between us and an expertise in the Wars of the Roses period
that is almost unparalleled. Our members get to learn history and
live history.
There are many different positions in our household that would suit
all types of people from ladies-in-waiting to maids, gentlemen of the
house to henchmen. Although their is a strong military presence we
specialise in living history rather than a purely militaristic ethos,
and this gives us the ability to do events and have experiences that
many other groups cannot.
We practice with weapons of the period including longbow, sword,
bill, hand gun and poleaxe and all of our members are offered excellent
training in the martial skills dependant on their own interests. We do
not have women fighting on a battlefield as some groups do as this is
not accurate to the period. However, women did fight in sieges and were
often part of cannon crews.
We have a lot of clothing to loan new members so that they can
'try-before-they-buy.' Membership costs only £15 per annum or £10 for concessions.
We offer something very different - a great sense of camaraderie, team
work, historical knowledge, martial skills and far more. If you are

and a flavour of what medieval life was all about.
