The
Wars of The Roses Federation
Lord
Burgh’s Retinue is just one of many member groups who belong
to the Federation. The
‘Fed’, as it is usually known, was formed to bring like
minded groups and societies together to stage large scale
re-enactments, across the UK.
The
Federation has a Committee of hard working volunteers who come
from a cross section of the member groups, and it is these
stalwarts who secure events for everyone, plan and organise
them, and, finally, see them through to the end, acting as co-ordinators
and working closely with the venue management to ensure an
event goes off like clock-work.

Like
the much better known civil war ‘umbrella’ organisations,
the Sealed Knot and English Civil Wars Society, the Federation
represents its period and promotes the late medieval period,
encouraging research into all aspects of medieval life and
keeping England’s vivid history alive, for everyone.
The
Federation have appeared at venues such as:- Bosworth,
Tewkesbury, Lincoln Castle, Kirby Hall, Blore Heath, as well
as arranging for member groups to put on events at smaller
venues throughout the UK.
Film and TV work have also provided the Federation with
employment over the years, and the Committee are always happy
to discuss your requirements if you are looking for a well
managed, controlled and safe large scale Wars of The Roses
event.
Member
groups specialise in various aspects of the period, from its
magnificent horses to the deft surgeon, and from cookery to
awesome English archers, the Federation and its groups can
bring any venue back to medieval life!
